Installation

Step-by-step installation guide for the Ingestics WordPress plugin.

Requirements

• WordPress 5.8 or higher
• PHP 7.4 or higher (PHP 8.0+ recommended)
• MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+
• WP-Cron enabled (for scheduled fetches)
• HTTPS recommended (for secure API communication)

Method 1: Install from WordPress.org

1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
2. Go to Plugins → Add New
3. Search for “Ingestics”
4. Click Install Now
5. After installation completes, click Activate

Method 2: Upload the plugin ZIP

1. Download the Ingestics ZIP from WordPress.org
2. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
3. Choose the ZIP file and click Install Now
4. Click Activate

Method 3: Install via WP-CLI

If you use WP-CLI, install with a single command:

wp plugin install ingestics --activate

Post-installation setup

After activating Ingestics, a new “Ingestics” menu appears in your WordPress admin sidebar. The menu includes:

• Dashboard — Overview of providers, stats, and recent activity
• API Providers — Manage REST API connections
• RSS Providers — Manage RSS and Atom feed connections
• File Import — Import CSV, JSON, XML, XLSX files
• Diagnostics — View logs, errors, and system information
• Settings — General settings, AI configuration, WooCommerce, Polylang

Activating a premium license

If you purchased a premium plan (Lite, Pro, or Business):

1. Go to Ingestics → Settings → License
2. Enter your license key (sent via email after purchase)
3. Click Activate

The same plugin package handles all tiers. Your license key unlocks the features for your plan. No reinstall or data migration needed.

Upgrading from free to premium

To upgrade from the free edition to a paid plan:

1. Go to Ingestics → Settings → License
2. Click Upgrade Now or visit the pricing page
3. Complete checkout via Freemius (Stripe-powered, 7-day money-back guarantee)
4. Your license key is sent via email
5. Enter the key in the License tab to unlock premium features

Your existing providers, settings, and content are preserved during upgrade. No data migration is needed.

Updating Ingestics

Ingestics updates are delivered through WordPress’s standard plugin update mechanism. When a new version is available:

1. A notification appears on your Plugins page
2. Click Update Now next to Ingestics

Premium updates require an active license key. If your license expires, you can continue using the installed version but will not receive updates.

Uninstalling

To completely remove Ingestics and all its data:

1. Deactivate the plugin on the Plugins page
2. Click Delete (WordPress will ask for confirmation)
3. Ingestics cleans up all provider data, settings, and transients

Imported posts are not deleted. They remain as standard WordPress posts.
